Concerning a Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment

 TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake has received a Zoning By-law Amendment Application to the Comprehensive Zoning By-law in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.69, as amended and deemed said application as “complete” on November 8, 2022.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake will hold a Public Meeting on:

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14th, 2023

At 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers

This Notice is provided to the public in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.

A decision on this file will not be made at this meeting, it is intended to hear directly from the public.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the application is to rezone the subject lands from “Natural Resources (NR)” Zone to “Extractive Industrial with an exception (MX-1)”. The MX-1 Zone is proposed to include a special exception to permit new development to be accessed via an existing access road (Beaverhouse Road) and to define the term “access road”. The effect of this application will be to permit a small private aggregate borrow pit for the sole purpose of providing aggregates to an advanced exploration project in the Township of Gauthier. No exploration will be occurring in Larder Lake.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at this public meeting or provide written submissions to the Township of Larder Lake before the proposed by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Larder Lake to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) and may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the OLT unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
